Artist Statement Ever since I was little I've loved architecture so that's what I thought I was going to do with my life. However, when I got into architecture school I realized it's not what it used to be. Then I was going to transfer to another school and try the same thing when I had a car accident forcing me to stay in Indianapolis for recovery. I went to Herron, fell in love with painting and started painting old, black and white photos from the Historical Society in color to bring them back to life. Though, once I get the image laid out it becomes a technical abstract painting about color combinations, shape, form, etc. I apply this theory to my abstracts as well. studio: C340 |
