Artist Statement I'm interested in the potential for a painting to be a simple object that is familiar on a physical level, something that exists as an obvious series of processes and combinations of materials, at the same time that it can be disorienting as an image, something that achieves a degree of complexity and illusion that masks the basic facts of its production. I try to make paintings that are at once present and absent, physical and virtual. studio: D210 |
