The Stutz Holiday Show - Friday, November 19, 5-9 p.m.
General Information
The Stutz Artists Association will kick off the Indianapolis holiday season with the annual Holiday Exhibition on Friday, Nov. 19. Visitors will view the work of approximately 40 artists while mingling, enjoying light refreshments and listening to music - all in one room at the historic Stutz building.
Attendees to the event which will be held on the Friday before Thanksgiving also will get a creative start on holiday shopping, with gift possibilities ranging from paintings, metal sculpture and wearable art to jewelry, cards and custom portraits. During the popular event, about 40 artists with studios in the historic Stutz building will display their work in a single gallery from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
One of the largest associations of working artists in Indiana, the Stutz Artists Association exists to encourage its member artists and to promote their work. The association operates STUTZARTSPACE, a nonprofit gallery and classroom complex on the first floor of the Stutz. Classes pair professional artists with students at a wide range of skill levels. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays, or by appointment. It will be open Nov. 19 with the "Uncovered: Food for Thought" group exhibition inspired by this year's Spirit and Place theme, Food for Thought. The show showcases the sketchbooks and artwork of 17 artists and a couple of chefs. More information is available on www.stutzartists.com.
