Open Fields: Stutz Artists Featured in Downtown Indianapolis Hotel Exhibition
Art has a way of transforming a space, and right now, visitors to Le Méridien Indianapolis are experiencing exactly that. Open Fields, an exhibition presented by theERA, brings a mix of contemporary artwork into the refined setting of the downtown hotel.
The exhibition opened with a reception on February 12 and will remain on view through May 31, 2026. Throughout the hotel’s lobby, lounge, bar, and restaurant spaces, artwork is installed to invite guests to pause, look closer, and experience art.
Three Stutz Artists are represented in Open Fields. Artists from the Stutz are regularly featured in exhibitions around the city, and this show is another example of their work reaching new audiences.
Opening Night at the Hotel
The opening reception drew a supportive crowd. Guests mingled at the hotel with drinks in hand while exploring artwork displayed throughout the main floor. Pieces hung in the front sitting room and continued through the restaurant and bar areas, creating a gallery-like experience woven into the hotel environment. A hidden speakeasy in the basement added to the atmosphere, giving visitors another place to gather during the evening.
Stutz Artists in the Exhibition
Faith Blackwell exhibited Forward, a bold photographic piece printed on canvas. Dominated by black, white, and red, the work reflects her pop-art style and strong graphic sensibility. The piece was purchased during the show.
Cathy Williams contributed a painting titled Family. The piece is abstract, with layered texture and movement that hint at human forms while leaving space for the viewer’s imagination.
Susan Brewer presented two abstract paintings. The Race Within features energetic reds, pinks, and oranges with a black-and-white checkered section that subtly references racing culture in Indianapolis. Her second work, Earth Portal #1 & #2, shifts to calming blues and greens, showcasing her signature flowing movement and layered color.

A Moment Together
During the opening reception, the Stutz Artists in the exhibition gathered for a quick photo in front of the fireplace at Le Méridien Indianapolis. It was a simple but meaningful moment to pause and celebrate their shared connection to The Stutz while guests continued exploring the show.
