The Gerard Studio for Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture
Jim Gerard is an artist and educator whose work centers on the human figure as a foundation for painting, drawing, and sculpture. The Gerard Studio for Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture welcomes exploration across mediums and traditions, drawing inspiration from Western art histories—including Classicism, Romanticism, Expressionism, and Surrealism—as well as Eastern, African, and other global artistic influences.
Founded in 2010 at the Stutz Business Center in Indianapolis, the Gerard Studio is part of a much longer family legacy that dates back to the 1930s. The first Gerard Studio was established by Jim’s grandmother, Allee Gerard, followed by his father, Jerry Gerard, both in Warsaw, Indiana. Today’s studio continues that lineage as a creative workspace designed to nurture the artistic spirit—not only in Jim’s own practice, but in the work of other artists who share the space.
